What We're Looking For:Iridium is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Configuration and Data Management Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the configuration and data management activities across the organization, ensuring that data integrity, consistency, and compliance are maintained. You will oversee complex projects and manage critical configuration items (CIs) while collaborating with key stakeholders to streamline processes, enforce best practices, and implement cutting-edge solutions. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in configuration and data management, a proven track record of leadership, and the ability to drive large-scale change. Additionally, you will oversee the full lifecycle of customer deliverables, ensuring that all items meet quality standards, customer requirements, and contractual obligations. This position requires an active/current Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).
What You'll Do:- Work independently to provide configuration/data management support in accordance with the CDM Policy, CDM Process, CDM Procedures and CDM Plans.
- Play a key role in the development of the Configuration and Data Management Policy, Procedures, Plans, Work Instructions and CDM owned customer DRLs.
- Manage and direct all configuration management and data management activities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Play a key role to develop and implement configuration management policies, processes, and standards to ensure accurate tracking, reporting, and control of configuration items (CIs) and data across the organization.
- Ensure the Configuration Management Tools and associated configuration data are up to date, complete, and compliant with internal standards. Oversee version control and baseline configurations for software, hardware, and associated documentation.
- Lead and manage configuration control processes, including change requests, change boards, versioning, and impact analysis. Collaborate with stakeholders to assess and mitigate risks associated with changes to configuration items and data.
- Take ownership of customer-facing deliverables, working with PMs to define, schedule and manage deliverables, ensuring that all deliverables are accurate, complete, and delivered on time.
- Facilitate configuration control boards (CCBs) and document configuration changes, ensuring they are tracked and implemented properly.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and tool enhancement to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort in configuration and data management.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level analysts, sharing best practices and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Lead internal training initiatives to elevate the team's capabilities.
- Work closely with IT, engineering, project management, and business units to ensure configuration and data management processes are integrated into broader project lifecycles and operational workflows.
- Prepare and present detailed reports and presentations to senior leadership on configuration and data management performance, status updates, risks, and key initiatives.
- Develop and enforce data management policies, ensuring that data is securely stored, easily accessible, and properly tracked.
- Lead the selection, implementation, and optimization of configuration management tools and data management technologies to support evolving business needs.
- Review and provide input to proposals, contracts, statements of work (SOWs), and agreements to ensure that configuration and data management requirements are properly outlined and adhered to. Interpret contracts to identify CM and DM requirements to standup processes and tools.
- Understand Export Control Regulation ITAR/EAR.
- Enforce the protection of Intellectual Property.
- May provide other functional support as assigned to assist in the execution of various engineering and program management activities.
What You'll Need to Succeed:- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, relevant experience in lieu of degree.
- 8+ years of configuration management, data management, or related fields, with at least 3 years in a senior role.
- Proficient in MS Office products, including Word, Excel, Project, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Power BI, and Visio.
- Knowledge or familiarity of the industry standards: MIL-HDBK-61A, MIL-STD-963C, EIA-649C, ISO9000, AS9100, DD-Form 1423, GEIA-859,DoD 5010.12-M.
- Experience with the Agile methodologies or experience working in Agile environments.
- Ability to execute an acute attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey products, deliverables, analyses, and/or issues to groups outside of your team or those who are unfamiliar with the topic.
- Have confidence and be able to easily build relationships with leadership and colleagues outside of your team.
- Possess an analytical mindset, with the ability to understand a situation or problem and think critically to make decisions and come up with out-of-the-box solutions.
- Be proactive in providing feedback and be enthusiastic in sharing your knowledge with others.
- Capable of prioritizing your own tasks and potentially the tasks of others while making sure deadlines are met.
- Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Things That Would be Great if You Brought to the Table:- An active advanced certification in Configuration Management (e.g., CMII, ITIL, PMP) or Data Management (e.g., CDMP).
- An active EIA-649C certification is a plus.
- Experience reading engineering drawings, production specifications, and contract documents.
- SharePoint Experience.
- Expertise in configuration management methodologies, tools, and processes, including change control, version management, and baseline management.
- Experience with PDM/PLM software or other configuration management tools.
- Knowledge of industry standards such as ISO, CMMI, or similar frameworks.
- Experience in contract management and managing customer-facing deliverables under strict deadlines.
- Experience in mentoring or leading teams in configuration or data management practices.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies or experience working in Agile environments.
We'll also need you to:- NOTE: This is an onsite role, where the expectation is that you perform your work in the office 5 days per week
- Must possess an active U.S. Department of Defense Secret security clearance at time of hire and be able to maintain the clearance throughout employment
- This position directly performs under, supports, or is exposed to a U.S. government contract and COMSEC equipment.
- Travel up to 10%, as needed to support programs and particapate in team collaboration activities
Work Environment:This position primarily works in an office setting and is largely sedentary with the majority of the position working with a computer. The role typically requires the use of basic office equipment such as a phone, video, computer, keyboard, mouse, and printer.
