Job Purpose & Scope

This role is focused on forging robust partnerships with key stakeholders to understand their data requirements and priorities across various lines of business. Responsible for identifying, assessing, documenting, planning, and managing data solutions which enhance the Bank's business intelligence and analytical capabilities.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Identifies, documents, and defines reporting and analytical solutions with business stakeholders to strategically improve their consumption and utilization of business data.
  2. Partners with the Data Innovation Team architects and engineers to convey requirements to support data and report development activities.
  3. Creates logical descriptive solution drawings, process flows, wireframes, and other supporting collateral to define the solution.
  4. Supports creation of testing plans and test templates to support successful implementation of the solution.
  5. Provides release planning coordination across data products.
  6. Anticipates and mitigates roadblocks that impact the team's ability to complete release objectives.
  7. Prepares and updates data documentation and limited training material to insure successful feature implementation and adoption.
  8. Builds an understanding of assigned lines of business.
  9. Utilizes a proactive, professional, and team-oriented style to work effectively with executive leaders, department heads, and subject matter experts.
  10. Assists in project planning activities including creation of deliverables, milestones, timelines, project assignments, and constraints/dependencies management.
  11. Identifies, communicates, and mitigates risks and opportunities, and contributes to process improvements.
  12. Enables the data development lifecycle and adheres to the Bank's development controls.
  13. Maintains awareness of business intelligence and analytics landscape to ensure leading edge capabilities and practices are utilized within the Bank.
  14. Provides post-development support by leading communication, outreach, and training, and by removing impediments that prevent releases, rollouts, and user adoption.
  15. Promotes and maintains a positive work atmosphere by demonstrating leadership and communicating in a positive, professional manner to work effectively with co-workers, management, partners, and vendors.
  16. Regularly exercises discretion and judgment in the performance of essential job functions.
  17. Maintains good punctuality and attendance to work.
  18. Follows Bank policy, procedures and guidelines.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  1. Knowledge of Jira or similar task management platform.
  2. Knowledge of Microsoft BI stack including SQL Server Database, SSIS, SSAS, Power BI, SQL Reporting Services.
  3. Knowledge of cloud architecture including but not limited to Microsoft Azure.
  4. Ability to communicate effectively through verbal and written methods.
  5. Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive and negative situations while emphasizing teamwork and team-based outcomes.
  6. Ability to develop and grow organizational knowledge.
  7. Ability to work on multiple projects at once, multi-task, with exacting deadlines.
  8. Ability to demonstrate accuracy, thoroughness. and attention to detail.
  9. Ability to exhibit sound and accurate judgment.
  10. Ability to work alone or in group settings.
  11. Ability to demonstrate critical thinking, analytical skills, and organization.
  12. Ability to work effectively with all levels of management.
  13. Ability to demonstrate effective project management and customer service skills.
  14. Skill in using computer, including Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel).

Basic Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree or commensurate work experience required.
  2. Minimum of four (4) years of work experience in a data analyst, data science, or data engineering role, including direct experience in technical product management and/or data analysis activities, required.
  3. Prior work experience in data product management preferred.
