Senior Cloud Engineer

Introduction:

As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, configuring, supporting, and maintaining enterprise hybrid cloud infrastructure across various platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform. You will work closely with development teams, ensure compliance with security standards, and optimize cloud operations for efficiency and reliability.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, configure, support, and maintain enterprise hybrid cloud infrastructure.
• Provide technical oversight of cloud architecture, infrastructure, networking, compute, storage, databases, security, monitoring, logging, and automation.
• Participate in vendor architecture and development discussions and review proposed cloud designs.
• Validate cloud architecture against enterprise standards, security requirements, and regulatory requirements.
• Identify risks and recommend appropriate solutions for architecture, security, performance, and scalability.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automated deployment processes.
• Implement and support application containerization and cloud-native deployment patterns.
• Incorporate security requirements including IAM, encryption, network security, and disaster recovery.
• Support compliance with government and industry standards such as NIST and IRS Publication 1075.
• Document cloud architecture, configurations, operational procedures, and support requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve security, performance, scalability, automation, and cloud cost efficiency.
• Evaluate new cloud services and marketplace solutions for potential enterprise use.
• Provide knowledge transfer, mentoring, documentation, and hands-on training to internal IT teams.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• 9+ years of experience designing, implementing, supporting, and maintaining cloud platforms.
• Strong experience with hybrid cloud environments involving public and/or private cloud infrastructure.
• 5+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• 5+ years of experience with application containerization and container-based deployments.
• 5+ years of experience implementing and supporting CI/CD pipelines.
• 5+ years of experience working with enterprise networking, observability, monitoring, logging, and cloud cost management.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, compute, storage, databases, security, scalability, and disaster recovery.
• Experience supporting Windows and .NET application environments.
• Experience working with development teams on application deployment, integration, and configuration.
• Strong programming/scripting and automation skills.
• Experience troubleshooting complex cloud infrastructure and application issues.
• Experience working in environments with security, compliance, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong understanding of cloud security principles, IAM, encryption, vulnerability management, monitoring, and operational controls.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Active cloud certification such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud certification.
