Summary
Job Title: CMM Inspector
Location: 445 Woodline Drive Spring TX USA 77386
Assignment 6 months with possible conversion to FTE
Shift: Mon-Fri 6am-4pm with some weekend work as needed.
As we catch up, hours per day may reduce closer to 8hrs.
Ideal Candidate Profile Quality Inspector / CMM Inspector
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience performing precision dimensional inspection of machined or complex mechanical components within a manufacturing or machining environment. They should be proficient in using precision measuring instruments, interpreting engineering drawings, and verifying parts against specifications, tolerances, and GD&T requirements.
Strong candidates will have practical experience operating and/or programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), managing calibration systems, and ensuring all inspection equipment remains calibrated, compliant, and traceable. They should be capable of documenting inspection results, identifying non-conforming materials, supporting root cause analysis, and collaborating with manufacturing and engineering teams to maintain product quality.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3+ years of precision dimensional inspection in a machining or manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding and application of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
- Experience operating and/or programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM)
- Calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment and calibration records
- Proficient with precision measuring instruments:
- Calipers
- Micrometers
- Height Gauges
- Bore Gauges
- Dial/Test Indicators
- Surface Plates
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and manufacturing specifications
- Experience documenting inspection reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective actions
- Familiarity with quality systems, inspection procedures, and manufacturing documentation
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting precision machining, aerospace, automotive, medical device, or high-tolerance manufacturing environments
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, or similar quality management systems
- Root cause analysis and corrective action experience
- Experience using quality documentation and inspection software
