Data Governance Lead

Role- Data Governance Consultant 
Location: Newark, NJ (Hybrid – 2 to 3 days onsite per week)

Job Summary

We are seeking a Data Governance Analyst/Consultant with strong experience in Data Governance, Data Quality, and Data Stewardship within financial services environments. The ideal candidate will partner with business and technology teams to establish governance standards, improve data quality, ensure compliance with PII policies, and drive data stewardship adoption across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Define, implement, and monitor Data Quality (DQ) rules and controls.
• Establish and enforce Data Governance frameworks, policies, and standards.
• Train and support Data Stewards to ensure governance adoption.
• Partner with business stakeholders to identify and resolve data quality issues.
• Support data lineage, metadata, and business glossary initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with PII and data privacy governance requirements.
• Facilitate governance meetings and communicate with business and technology teams.
• Develop governance metrics, scorecards, and reporting.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Data Quality, Master Data Management, or related disciplines.
• Strong experience establishing and enforcing data governance frameworks and policies.
• Hands-on experience defining and implementing Data Quality rules and controls.
• Experience working with investment management, asset management, wealth management, capital markets, or financial services organizations.
• Knowledge of data stewardship processes and governance operating models.
• Understanding of PII data governance, privacy regulations, and data protection principles.
• Strong stakeholder management and business-facing communication skills.
• Ability to facilitate discussions between business and technical teams.
• Experience working with metadata management, data lineage, and business glossary concepts.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Ataccama Data Governance and Data Quality platform.
