Role:Hardware Quality Engineer
Location:Boston, MA
Duration 6-12 Months
As a Senior Hardware Quality Engineer you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of advanced robotic systems. You ll lead quality initiatives, define strong testing processes, and work closely with design, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to continuously improve hardware quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and execute testing protocols for firmware functions and features
Perform root cause analysis and drive corrective actions
Partner with design, manufacturing, and supply chain teams across the product lifecycle
Create and maintain test plans, reports, and inspection documentation
Work with vendors and suppliers to support product quality
Lead RMA reviews, investigations, and data analysis
Troubleshoot product and production issues
Lead ECO reviews and design change approvals
Review engineering drawings and compliance documentation
Lead Verification & Validation for hardware changes
Track defects to resolution using standard quality tools
Support test fixture design and qualification
Analyze quality data to identify trends and improvements
Develop benchmark tests for system acceptance
Skills & Requirements:
Bachelor s or Master s in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related field
3 5 years of experience in Hardware Quality Engineering (robotics/automation preferred)
Strong experience with hardware testing tools and methodologies
Data analysis and visualization (PowerBI, Kibana preferred)
Reliability testing and quality improvement initiatives
Problem-solving tools: DOE, Fault Tree, Fishbone, 5 Whys
Risk tools: DFMEA, PFMEA
Experience with PLM tools (e.g., Omnify)
Verification & validation testing experience
Knowledge of product development tollgate processes
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to work confidently in cross-functional teams
