Test Lead

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced QA Test Lead / Test Coordinator to own the overall testing strategy and ensure the successful delivery of high-quality software releases. The ideal candidate will lead test planning, coordinate QA activities, manage defect resolution, and collaborate closely with business stakeholders, developers, and project teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the overall test strategy, test planning, and execution across multiple project phases.
• Lead and coordinate QA team members, testers, and third-party testing vendors as needed.
• Review business requirements, functional specifications, and user stories for testability, completeness, and potential quality risks.
• Define test scope, test approach, test cases, test data requirements, and entry/exit criteria.
• Coordinate functional, regression, integration, system, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Track, prioritize, and manage defects through resolution while working closely with development teams.
• Monitor testing progress and communicate testing status, risks, blockers, and release readiness to project stakeholders.
• Ensure testing deliverables are completed on schedule and meet quality standards.
• Drive continuous improvements in QA processes, testing methodologies, and automation opportunities.
• Maintain testing documentation, execution reports, traceability, and audit readiness.
• Support release planning, deployment validation, and go/no-go decisions.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, including experience leading QA teams or coordinating testing activities.
• Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Proven experience creating test strategies, test plans, test cases, test scripts, and execution reports.
• Strong knowledge of defect lifecycle management and defect triage processes.
• Experience analyzing business requirements and translating them into comprehensive test scenarios.
• Hands-on experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as JIRA, Zephyr, qTest, HP ALM/Quality Center, or similar platforms.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum and Waterfall software delivery methodologies.
• Solid understanding of:

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading distributed or offshore QA teams.

• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and release management processes.
• Experience in regulated industries such as Healthcare, Banking, Insurance, or Financial Services.
• ISTQB or other QA certifications are a plus.
