Network Engineer

Title : Network Engineer-W2
Location : Westlake, TX ( onsite every other week ) or Merrimack, NH-Onsite
Duration : 12 months/contract
Interview Process: 1 round likely, technical and onsite. Could be 2 rounds. 
Shift: Wed-Sat 10am-8pm EST
The Role
This role is responsible for quickly diagnosing and resolving high-severity infrastructure and network issues that impact enterprise systems and customers. Working as part of a Network Triage and Troubleshooting team, the engineer will investigate outages, connectivity problems, application performance issues, storage failures, and other critical incidents across both cloud and on-premises environments. The focus is on hands-on operations, troubleshooting, and restoring service rather than designing or implementing new infrastructure. The position also involves automating operational tasks with Python and Ansible, supporting infrastructure-as-code initiatives, and working within ITSM processes for incident, problem, and change management.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, networking, and cloud operations, with strong expertise in AWS and/or Azure networking and security. Candidates should have deep knowledge of IP routing, TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, load balancers (F5), proxies, and virtual networking, along with hands-on Python scripting and network automation experience. Strong troubleshooting skills are essential, as the interview includes practical technical assessments covering Cisco routing and switching, F5 load balancing, firewall technologies (Juniper/Checkpoint), Wireshark/PCAP analysis, and general networking fundamentals. Cisco certifications (CCNA/CCNP/CCIE) and network security certifications are considered a plus.

Must Have:
10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure
The emphasis should be on operations and problem solving. Not implementation/design/configured, etc.
Experience with virtual network and security constructs of AWS and/or Azure
Python scripting
In-depth knowledge of IP routing, firewalls, load balancers, proxies, and DNS
