Location: Sunnyvale, California (Onsite)

COMPENSATION: $78 - $88 HOURLY
Role Overview
The main function of a firmware software engineer is to apply the principles of computer science and mathematical analysis to the design, development, testing, and evaluation of software and systems. This role involves designing, developing, and testing operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software for various applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop high-quality code using C and C++ programming languages for embedded environments, ensuring portability across various processors and platforms.
- Develop optimized firmware for Graphics and Display pipelines to support product use cases.
- Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to improve and customize existing firmware, device drivers, and applications.
- Debug issues across the software stack, including hardware functionality, and provide both immediate workarounds and long-term solutions.
- Write new tests and maintain existing tests, including unit tests, manual tests, and CI automation.
Required Qualifications
Education: A bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a relevant field is required.
Experience: This position requires 8+ years of industry experience developing and testing low-level firmware for embedded systems, and 10+ years of programming experience using C and C++ for production code and test applications.
Technical Skills:- Expert knowledge of the full software development lifecycle.
- Experience with CI/CD development tools and processes.
- Scripting skills using Python or other languages for utility development and test automation.
- Experience with RTOS and developing multi-threaded applications.
- Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues and implement system changes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of AR/VR technologies.
- A basic understanding of Graphics and Display systems.
