Lead/Senior Java Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead/Senior Java Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance enterprise applications for a banking environment. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java 17+, Spring Boot, REST APIs, SQL, and microservices, along with solid system design and software engineering skills.

The candidate will contribute to technical architecture, lead design discussions, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality Java applications and backend services.
• Build and optimize RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Lead technical design discussions and contribute to architectural decisions.
• Develop scalable, reliable, secure, and high-performance enterprise solutions.
• Apply object-oriented design, SOLID principles, design patterns, and software engineering best practices.
• Design and optimize database queries and data access solutions using SQL and ORM technologies.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive technical feedback.
• Write clean, maintainable, reusable, and well-documented code.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across development and production environments.
• Analyse application performance and implement appropriate optimization strategies.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and contribute to technical knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Business Analysts, QA, DevOps, Architects, and other stakeholders.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Ensure applications meet required standards for security, reliability, scalability, and availability.
