Role Overview
This is a Full Stack Software Development Engineer position. The role involves building next-generation AI and Search platforms for banking assistants across multiple platforms. This position requires a candidate who is well-versed with client-side and server-side technologies, possesses a passion for producing high-quality software, and is ready to solve complex problems and perform code reviews. The candidate will write unit and integration tests and perform hybrid engineering tasks within an agile team.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop high-quality software using Java and J2EE technologies.
- Build and maintain enterprise backend services in Java and ML services in Python.
- Design and implement restful web services and server-side frameworks like Spring MVC.
- Work on high-volume applications, focusing on performance tuning and understanding JVM internals.
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to break down requirements and solve complex problems.
- Utilize NoSQL databases such as Cassandra and distributed caching frameworks like Hazelcast, Ignite, or Redis.
- Engage with modern JVM languages like Groovy or Scala.
- Work with open-source search engines like SOLR or Elasticsearch.
Required Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related field is required.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of hands-on software development experience is necessary.
Technical Skills:- Core Java / J2EE (primary)
- Python for ML services, data pipelines, and automation
- Server-side frameworks, specifically Spring MVC
- Building restful web services
- Performance tuning and JVM internals
- NoSQL databases, specifically Cassandra
- Distributed caching frameworks (e.g., Hazelcast, Ignite, Redis)
- Modern JVM languages (e.g., Groovy, Scala)
- Open source search engines (e.g., SOLR, Elasticsearch)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with NLP and Machine Learning.
- Prior contributions to open-source projects.
- A background in mathematics or statistics.
- Proven task management and leadership skills.
- Experience working in agile teams.
Work Environment
This position requires a hybrid work schedule with a minimum of three days per week on-site in Plano, TX, starting from day one. The role has the potential to convert to a full-time position. Candidates must not require sponsorship now or in the future.
