A major component involves comparing internal asset records against wireless-carrier records, investigating discrepancies, reviewing carrier bills, and analyzing devices showing zero or little usage.
They will also:
- Analyze monthly wireless and telecom carrier reports.
- Audit invoices and identify billing discrepancies and overcharges.
- Analyze unused or underutilized mobile devices/services.
- Reconcile internal asset records against carrier records.
- Identify and quantify cost-saving opportunities.
- Analyze vendor expenses against contract funding.
- Track planned versus actual expenditures.
- Prepare budget forecasts.
- Investigate budget variances.
- Produce executive-level reports and presentations.
- Develop and improve reporting and expense-management processes.
- Create ServiceNow reports and Power BI dashboards.
- Support procurement forecasting, contract modifications and vendor payments.
Ideal Candidate Background
The strongest candidate will likely come from a large enterprise, government agency, transportation organization, telecom company, or Telecom Expense Management organization where they were responsible for substantial wireless/wireline spending and thousands of telecom assets.
A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics is preferred, but I'd prioritize demonstrated hands-on TEM, telecom billing, financial analysis and large-data experience.
