Summary
Sr.Electrical Engineer
Location: Torrance, CA
Contract/ Full Time
Requirements understanding: The resource should be able to read and understand engineering requirements and have hands-on familiarity with DOORS and DOORS NG.
EMI/EMC expertise: Client are looking for someone who understands more than just the fundamentals of EMI. They should have practical experience designing for EMI/EMC considerations and using tools such as Simulink.
Technical expertise: Experience with auto-transformer design is also important, in addition to the other technical requirements previously shared.
Talent pool: They have had very good experiences with engineers from the University of Wisconsin Madison, so please consider candidates from that university and the surrounding talent pool as part of the search.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and develop electrical systems and components
Conduct feasibility studies and analyze technical requirements
Ensure compliance with electrical codes, standards, and regulations
Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources
Lead and manage electrical engineering projects from conception to completion
Provide technical expertise, guidance, and support to the team members
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure successful project execution
Execute electrical circuit design team project tasks
Complete assignments by applying electrical engineering methods
Generate Bill-of-Materials (BOMs) for Printed Board Assemblies (PBAs)
Leverage knowledge of circuit design, circuit simulation, and analysis
Troubleshoot and diagnose problems/failures uncovered by circuit card tests
Prepare investigation and test results to document findings
YOU MUST HAVE
Bachelor s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics or equivalent
Typically 15+ years working with circuit design integration and test experience
WE VALUE
Experience with MentorGraphix DxDesigner or equivalent circuit design tool set
Analog circuit design experience and standard lab equipment (meters, probes, etc.)
High-power power electronics design for inverters
Ability to produce white papers to document investigation findings, test results, and outcomes of trade studies
Knowledge of obsolescence parts replacement, identification of substitute parts, and making board level drawing changes
Experience with circuit design, circuit simulation, and analysis at a level required for fault isolation and hands-on troubleshooting
Familiarity with aircraft/aerospace test standards, such as DO-178B, DO-160, or DO-254
