Our client seeks a Java Developer with experience designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, AWS, Terraform, and Jenkins. The role spans the full software development lifecycle from analysis and design through deployment, support, and continuous improvement.

Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Rate: $65.00 to $73.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable and high-performance Java applications.
  • Participate in the full Software Development Life Cycle, including requirements gathering, analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
  • Develop RESTful APIs and microservices using Spring Boot and related frameworks.
  • Design and implement cloud-native solutions leveraging AWS services.
  • Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
  • Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins to automate build, testing, and deployment processes.
  • Perform code reviews, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure software quality and reliability.
  • Collaborate with architects, product owners, business analysts, and cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions.
  • Integrate applications with internal and external systems using APIs, messaging, and cloud services.
  • Conduct performance tuning, optimization, and application monitoring.
  • Implement security best practices, coding standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, design artifacts, and operational procedures.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to enhance application performance and development efficiency.
  • Support production deployments and resolve application issues as needed.

Experience Requirements:
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience using Java.
  • Strong experience with Java 8/11/17 and object-oriented design principles.
  • Hands-on experience developing microservices using Spring Boot.
  • Experience with REST APIs, JSON, and API integration.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, IAM, and VPC.
  • Experience using Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management.
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
  • Proficiency with Git and source code management practices.
  • Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle.
  • Strong understanding of software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.
  • Preferred: Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Preferred: Kafka, RabbitMQ, or AWS SQS/SNS.
  • Preferred: Agile or Scrum methodologies.
  • Preferred: Monitoring and logging tools such as Splunk, ELK, Grafana, or Prometheus.
  • Preferred: DevSecOps practices and cloud security principles.
  • Preferred: AWS Certification.

Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
