About the Team

The Sr. Systems Sales Engineer will be part of the Systems Engineering & Solution Sales team at Nutanix, a dynamic group based in Los Angeles. This team's culture is characterized by collaboration, innovation, and a strong customer-centric approach. Their mission is to identify and align technology opportunities with customer business goals, ensuring that clients achieve success through the integration of Nutanix's advanced solutions. With a focus on transforming how companies operate and helping them navigate their cloud transformation journeys, this team is dedicated to being seen as trusted advisors in their field.

You will report to a Sr. Manager of Systems Engineering, who is known for fostering a supportive and collaborative environment that encourages growth and development among team members. This manager adopts a hands-on leadership style and invests in mentoring team members to reach their full potential. The position is primarily remote, providing flexibility; however, the team may meet in the office as necessary, ensuring that all team members remain connected and engaged.

The role requires travel of up to 30%, allowing you to engage directly with customers and partners, fostering those crucial relationships that drive Nutanix's success. This travel includes attending client meetings, technical evaluations, and industry events to promote Nutanix's solutions and gather valuable insights from the market.

This role requires candidates to be located in Los Angeles or Orange County but will work remotely when not at customer sites.

Your Role
  • Demonstrate and articulate the features and benefits of Nutanix solutions to customers.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to develop account plans and create tailored proposals for clients.
  • Engage in technical evaluations (POCs) to ensure successful adoption of Nutanix solutions.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers as a trusted advisor.
  • Provide mentorship to new hires and peer colleagues, fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Gather and communicate customer feedback to inform product development and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Manage complex accounts and drive larger sales transactions effectively.
  • Achieve technical wins by collaborating with the presales team to meet customer needs efficiently.

What You Will Bring
  • 5+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical role with 3+ years as a Presales Engineer
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience
  • Hands-on technical aptitude with adaptability to market demands
  • Strong analytical skills for solving complex problems and developing solution strategies
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English
  • Experience with data center and cloud technologies, specifically in storage, virtualization, and automation frameworks
  • Ability to build long-term customer relationships and manage multiple projects effectively
  • Desire to learn, mentor others, and maintain high ethics and integrity in professional conduct

Work Arrangement

Remote: This position is primarily remote. There is no specific in-office requirement, however, there may be circumstances where you may be required to come into a local office for a specific purpose, and/or to travel to other locations based on business needs.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $ 196,000 and USD $ 294,000 per year.

However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
