The Microsoft Purview Engineer is a specialized cybersecurity and data governance professional responsible for protecting sensitive information, ensuring regulatory compliance, and managing data security across Microsoft 365, Azure, endpoints, and cloud environments. This role serves as the organization's technical expert for the Microsoft Purview platform and its data protection capabilities.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage Microsoft Purview solutions.
- Develop and maintain Data Loss Prevention (DLP) controls across Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and endpoints.
- Configure and manage Sensitivity Labels, Information Protection, and data classification policies.
- Lead Insider Risk Management, eDiscovery, Audit, Records Management, and Data Lifecycle Management initiatives.
- Assess and improve the organization's Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) capabilities to identify and reduce data exposure risks.
- Support compliance requirements such as GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, SOX, ISO 27001, and NIST.
- Partner with Security, Legal, Privacy, Compliance, and business teams to implement enterprise-wide data protection strategies.
