Position: API Platform Developer – Apigee

Required Skills
  • Strong hands-on experience with Apigee Edge (Non-Hybrid)
  • Apigee API proxies, shared flows, policies, JavaScript/Java callouts
  • Apigee Management APIs for deployment automation and lifecycle management
  • API proxy import/deploy/undeploy/redeploy and revision governance
  • Multi-environment deployment and promotion/rollback automation
  • Node.js, Grunt, Python/PowerShell scripting
  • CI/CD pipelines, gated promotions, approvals, artifact versioning, and automated rollback
  • OpenAPI/Swagger and API contract/schema validation
  • OAuth2, JWT, mTLS, HTTPS and API security
  • Linux CLI and networking fundamentals
  • Logs, metrics, analytics, monitoring, and performance troubleshooting
  • Git-based release workflows
Key Responsibilities
  • Design and standardize Apigee API proxy development at scale.
  • Automate API proxy lifecycle management using Apigee Management APIs.
  • Build controlled multi-environment and multi-plant deployment processes.
  • Implement revision governance, drift detection, compliance validation, and lifecycle analytics.
  • Develop release safety controls including rollback, revision locks, and deployment guardrails.
  • Build self-service request, approval, deployment, and failure-analysis workflows.
  • Implement automated CI/CD tollgates for security, policy compliance, OpenAPI integrity, dependencies, and configuration drift.
  • Develop dashboards, reporting, anomaly alerts, and operational visibility.
  • Modernize API pipelines using Copilot-assisted Python pipelines and Artifactory.
  • Collaborate with Agile teams across US time zones for releases, reviews, and incidents.

  • Performance/resiliency engineering
