The judge Group direct client is seeking Senior Cybersecurity engineer in LosAngeles, CA.
Sr. Cybersecurity Engineer (Fortinet Firewall Replacement)
Duration: 6 month contract-to-hire
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Overview:
The Sr. Cybersecurity Engineer will perform the planning, installation, configuration, and cutover for the replacement of two enterprise Fortinet FortiGate firewalls. This role requires
advanced experience with Fortinet security solutions, high-availability designs, and secure migration practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Review existing firewall architecture, security policies, NAT rules, VPN configurations, and routing.
Recommend appropriate FortiGate models, licensing (including Security Fabric) and high-availability design (active-active or active-passive).
Build and configure two new FortiGate firewalls, including interfaces, VLANs, static and dynamic routing, SD-WAN (if applicable), and security profiles.
Recreate or migrate firewall rules, segmentation policies, objects, and address groups from legacy systems.
Perform firewall cutover with minimal downtime and full rollback plan.
Conduct validation testing for traffic flow, application availability, routing, and policy enforcement.
Create documentation including diagrams, rule sets, and post-deployment configuration standards.
Required Experience & Skills:
Strong firewall and cybersecurity experience.
Expertise in FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, and Security Fabric components.
Experience with firewall replacements, rule migrations, high-availability setups, and VPN reconstructions.
