Summary
One of our client is urgently looking for an Executive MAC Technician.
Scope:
We have a high-priority, "Band 3" requirement for an Executive MAC Technician to provide exclusive, white-glove support for a Leadership Team in NYC. This is a highly visible, client-facing role for a specialist who can act as a primary technology advisor within the Apple ecosystem.
Location: 100% On-site (Lower Manhattan / Jersey City area)
Compensation: Market rates are acceptable for top-tier talent.
Travel: Requires flexibility for regional travel to support executive needs at multiple locations (offices, remote sites, and travel scenarios).
Core Responsibilities
- VIP Advisory: Serve as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for all Apple/MAC ecosystem matters, providing proactive, anticipatory support for the Executive Leadership Team.
- Hardware Lifecycle: Perform end-to-end installation, configuration, and optimization of MacBook Pro/Air, iMac, Mac mini, Mac Studio, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and all peripherals (Studio Displays, AirPods, HomePods).
- Strategic Liaison: Act as the liaison between Leadership and the IT Service Desk, system admin, network, cybersecurity, and engineering teams to translate executive needs into technical requirements.
- System Maintenance: Manage and coordinate seamless updates of macOS, iOS, iPadOS, and applications; coordinate with Apple Business Support and AppleCare for Enterprise for hardware repairs and replacements.
- Proactive Operations: Complete comprehensive daily checklists (system health checks, pending updates, and maintenance) to prevent issues before they impact executives.
- Event Support: Provide on-site and remote support for executive presentations and board meetings using AirPlay, Apple TV, Keynote, and other presentation tools.
- Enterprise Integration: Design and implement solutions leveraging Apple’s Continuity, Handoff, Universal Clipboard, and AirDrop, ensuring alignment with enterprise security policies and data governance.
- Documentation & MDM: Manage Apple Business Manager (DEP/VPP) and MDM solutions (Jamf Pro, Intune, etc.); maintain detailed tracking in ServiceNow.
- Leadership: Supervise and mentor backup support technicians to ensure consistent service quality.
Technical Requirements
- OS Expertise: Expert-level macOS (current + previous 3 versions) including Terminal/command line and system optimization; advanced knowledge of iOS/iPadOS restrictions and enterprise features.
- Hardware Diagnostics: Deep expertise with Apple hardware architecture and repair procedures for all Mac and iOS devices.
- Expert Software Skills: * Microsoft 365 for Mac: Expert-level proficiency (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive integration).
- Productivity: iWork suite (Pages, Numbers, Keynote), iCloud for business, and Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Professional Apps: Proficiency with Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, Motion, and Compressor (preferred).
- Networking & Infrastructure: * Cross-platform integration (Active Directory binding, SMB file sharing, VPN configuration).
- Advanced understanding of residential/office mesh WiFi, routers, and switches.
- Enterprise collaboration: Teams, Zoom, WebEx, and Slack optimizations for Mac.
- Security: Expert knowledge of FileVault, Gatekeeper, SIP, Secure Boot, Touch ID/Face ID, and Keychain management.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of dedicated Executive/VIP support + minimum 7 years of hands-on macOS administration in enterprise environments.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT or High School Diploma with 8+ years of equivalent hands-on experience.
- Certifications: ACSP (Required or obtained within 6 months); ACMT, ACiT, or Jamf Certified Admin are highly preferred. CompTIA A+/Network+ or ITIL Foundation are a plus.
