RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Technical Product Owner in Saint Louis, MO.
Key Responsibilities:
* Own the end-to-end product backlog for data migration initiatives, including epics, features, and user stories aligned to migration waves and cutover plans
* Define and communicate clear migration objectives, success criteria, and acceptance standards for data completeness, accuracy, and reconciliation
* Prioritize work based on business impact, technical dependencies, data risk, and release timelines
* Act as the single point of accountability for migration scope, backlog readiness, and delivery outcomes
* Partner with Data Engineering and Architecture teams to plan and execute migrations across databases, data warehouses, lakes, and analytics platforms
* Collaborate on source-to-target mappings, transformation logic, data validation rules, and reconciliation strategies
* Ensure non-functional requirements are addressed, including performance, scalability, security, retention, and compliance
* Support cutover planning, parallel runs, rollback strategies, and post-migration validation
* Work closely with business stakeholders to understand how migrated data is consumed by reporting, analytics, and operational systems
* Coordinate dependencies with upstream and downstream system owners to minimize business disruption
* Communicate migration progress, risks, and tradeoffs clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
* Partner with QA and Data Quality teams to ensure defects are triaged, prioritized, and resolved efficiently
* Lead backlog refinement, sprint planning, and sprint reviews for migration workstreams in an Agile or hybrid delivery model
* Ensure stories are well-defined, testable, and ready for development before entering a sprint
* Use metrics and data (defect trends, reconciliation results, throughput) to inform prioritization and decision-making
REQUIREMENTS:
* 2-5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Technical Product Owner, or similar role supporting data-intensive products or platforms
* Hands-on experience supporting or leading data migration initiatives, including legacy-to-cloud or platform modernization efforts
* Experience working closely with Data Engineers and Architects in complex, integrated environments
* Strong understanding of data concepts such as ETL/ELT, data modeling, data quality, reconciliation, and downstream data consumption
* Proficiency with Agile delivery practices and backlog management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps)
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate between business needs and technical execution
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience supporting analytics, BI, or reporting use cases dependent on migrated data
* Experience operating in regulated or data-sensitive environments
* Familiarity with modern data platforms (cloud data warehouses, data lakes, streaming or integration tools)
* Working knowledge of SQL or data querying to support validation, troubleshooting, and prioritization
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
