A rapidly growing satellite communications and ground segment services organization is seeking a Senior Network Architect to join its U.S. team in the Denver, CO area. This is a full-time opportunity focused on designing and evolving secure, highly available global network infrastructure supporting commercial, government, and mission-critical operations. The environment includes SD-WAN, enterprise routing and switching, IPSec VPNs, hybrid cloud networking, Azure Government, AWS GovCloud, network security, and large-scale global connectivity.
This role is ideal for a senior networking professional who wants to operate at the architecture level while influencing long-term technology strategy. The organization continues to expand its U.S. presence and is looking for someone who can translate complex business and mission requirements into scalable, resilient network solutions. You'll work closely with cybersecurity, cloud, software, and operations teams while helping shape the future of a global communications platform that supports critical customer missions around the world.
Required Skills & Experience - 10+ years of progressive experience in enterprise, service provider, government, or mission-critical network engineering and architecture roles
- Experience architecting and deploying large-scale WAN, SD-WAN, and hybrid cloud networking solutions
- Expert knowledge of enterprise routing and switching technologies including BGP, OSPF, route redistribution, VRF technologies, VLANs, Layer 2/Layer 3 segmentation, and high availability architectures
- Extensive experience designing and supporting global IPSec VPN environments
- Experience designing network architectures aligned with NIST 800-171/53 security controls and risk management frameworks
- Strong understanding of network segmentation, encryption technologies, access control, and secure network design principles
- Experience integrating cloud networking with enterprise infrastructure
- Hands-on experience with SD-WAN platforms, firewalls, network access control solutions, VPN concentrators, and enterprise routing and switching platforms
- Experience creating architecture diagrams, technical documentation, implementation plans, and engineering standards
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to executives, customers, engineers, and program stakeholders
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Clearance
- Ability to support programs involving Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI)
- Ability to travel internationally as required
Desired Skills & Experience - Experience designing networks supporting Azure Government, Azure, AWS GovCloud, or similar cloud environments
- Familiarity with RMF, FedRAMP, DISA STIGs, and other government compliance frameworks
- Experience with network automation and Infrastructure as Code technologies including Python, Ansible, AWX, GitLab, Terraform, and NetBox
- Experience supporting globally distributed operational or mission networks
- Experience with satellite communications, ground stations, RF transport systems, or related technologies
- Industry certifications such as CCNP Enterprise, CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure, Azure Network Engineer Associate, or AWS Advanced Networking Specialty
