Job Title: AWS Cloud Solutions Architect / Cloud Engineer

Role Overview
This is a senior-level cloud architect role seeking a highly experienced Senior Enterprise Architect with strong expertise in application modernization, cloud-native design, and enterprise application portfolio management.
The role emphasizes hands-on architecture execution, including designing modern solutions, enabling cloud migrations, developing reusable architecture standards, and collaborating with engineering teams to modernize and optimize the application ecosystem.
The architect will work across AWS, Azure, and hybrid cloud environments, supporting modernization initiatives, reducing technical debt, and governing the application lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
1. Architecture Standards, Patterns & Modernization Frameworks
- Develop and maintain application and integration architecture standards
- Create reusable modernization patterns (microservices, APIs, event-driven architecture, containerization)
- Contribute to reference architectures and ensure consistency across teams
- Support solution architects and engineering teams in applying standards
2. Application Modernization Execution
- Define modernization strategies for legacy systems (rehost, replatform, refactor, retire)
- Design cloud-native and hybrid solutions, primarily on Azure (AKS, Functions, APIM, PaaS)
- Work closely with engineering teams during design, PoCs, and initial development phases
- Guide domain-driven design, service decomposition, and modernization roadmaps
3. Cloud Architecture & Platform Enablement
- Build and enhance cloud landing zones and governance frameworks
- Define infrastructure, integration, API, and data architecture patterns
- Support hybrid cloud integration across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform
- Evaluate emerging cloud technologies (AI, observability, DevSecOps, automation tools)
4. Application Portfolio Management & Rationalization
- Conduct architecture assessments using frameworks like TIME or 6R
- Identify consolidation, migration, and retirement opportunities
- Collaborate with APM/CMDB platforms to maintain accurate application inventory
- Develop metrics and dashboards to track modernization progress
5. Technical Debt Analysis & Remediation
- Analyze and maintain visibility into application-level technical debt
- Partner with product teams to prioritize remediation based on risk and value
- Recommend remediation strategies aligned with target architecture
6. Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & Automation
- Develop IaC templates using Terraform, Bicep/ARM, or Pulumi
- Support CI/CD pipeline architecture (GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jenkins)
- Collaborate with DevOps teams on automation and configuration management (Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
7. Security, Compliance & Optimization
- Implement cloud security best practices (IAM/RBAC, network security, key management)
- Ensure compliance with standards such as CIS, NIST, and ISO 27001
- Support cloud cost optimization initiatives using FinOps practices
8. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with DevOps, Networking, Security, Infrastructure, Finance, and Procurement teams
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear business and technical guidance
- Participate in cloud strategy planning and solution design workshops
Preferred Certifications / Experience
- AWS Solutions Architect (Expert level preferred)
- TOGAF
