Genesis10 is currently seeking a Mainframe Systems Engineer (Storage) - Hybrid for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Chandler, AZ. This is an 12+ month contract opportunity. This role involves systems engineering activities supporting Mainframe (System z) Storage projects with varying degrees of complexity. The ideal candidate will work on system design, build, development, implementation, and maintenance, exercising judgment within broadly defined practices to obtain results. This position requires working a hybrid schedule with a minimum of 3 days per week onsite.
Responsibilities: - Engage in systems engineering activities for Mainframe (System z) Storage projects, including design, build, development, implementation, and maintenance
- Provide operations and client support across infrastructure and software
- Work under minimal supervision and support senior personnel and project managers on technical projects
- Assist and help train junior analysts, including guiding and providing technical peer reviews
- Analyze complex problems where evaluation of various factors is required
Requirements: - Minimum of 5-10 years of experience as a Mainframe Storage administrator
- Experience with Hitachi Vantara DASD synchronous and asynchronous replication
- Experience with IBM TAPE GRID configurations
- Experience with Broadcom (Brocade) FICON directors and channel extension
- In-depth knowledge of z/OS storage management utilities including DFHSM, ICKDSF, CA1, User Catalogs, ABARS, TDMF, and DFDSS
- Proficient with SAS, VISIO, MS Office, and REXX
- Strong technical documentation writing skills
- Project management skills
- Ability to work as a self-starter without hands-on supervision
Desired skills: - Knowledge of Assembler and CLIST
- Conceptual understanding of Mainframe Operations
Pay Range: $50.55 - $58.55 per hour
