Pay Range: $180,000 - $260,000 Job Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Director of Scientific AI Research to lead and scale a high-impact technical research team. This role operates at the intersection of academia and industry, requiring a strong background in research, leadership, and business development. The ideal candidate will have experience securing funding, building research programs, and working across federal and commercial environments.
Responsibilities: - Build and scale a high-impact technical research team.
- Drive business development and secure funding through grants and partnerships.
- Operate at the intersection of academia and industry, with an expectation to publish research.
- Lead initiatives across federal (85%) and commercial environments.
- Establish and grow research programs with measurable impact.
Qualifications: - Proven ability to build and lead technical teams.
- Strong research and publication background.
- Experience securing government or R&D funding.
- Federal/government experience strongly preferred.
- Commercial experience is also valued.
- Open to candidates at the Tech Lead or Assistant Director level.
