Position Title: Data Governance Lead

Position Location: Remote - India

Reports to: Senior Director, Data Analytics

Job Summary:

The Data Governance Lead is responsible for owning and driving the enterprise data governance program. This role establishes governance strategy, operating models, and standards while partnering closely with business leadership, Data Domain Owners, Data Stewards, and the Data & Analytics team to ensure data is trusted, secure, and consistently used across the organization.

The Data Governance Lead provides program leadership, sets priorities across domains, and ensures governance is embedded into data platforms, reporting, and business processes.

Essential Functions:

• Own and lead the enterprise data governance strategy, roadmap, and operating model
• Define and enforce data ownership, stewardship, and accountability frameworks
• Partner with Data Domain Owners (SMEs) to establish definitions, business rules, and quality expectations
• Lead data quality management, including KPIs, issue management, and remediation governance
• Own governance for reference and master data (RDM / MDM), including hierarchy standards and change processes
• Establish and maintain data standards, policies, and documentation
• Oversee data access, security, and entitlement governance in partnership with IT and Security
• Embed governance controls into data platforms, pipelines, and reporting
• Facilitate governance forums, decision-making bodies, and sign-off processes
• Drive change management and communication for data-related initiatives
• Measure and report on governance effectiveness and maturity

Required Skills/Abilities/Competencies

• Deep expertise in data governance, data quality, and data management disciplines
• Strong leadership and program management capabilities
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive cross-functional alignment
• Strong understanding of enterprise data platforms and analytics ecosystems
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and negotiation skills
• Ability to balance structure with pragmatism in fast-paced environments
• Strategic thinker with strong execution focus

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in information systems, Data Management, Business Analytics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 7+ years of experience in data governance, data management, analytics, or related roles
• Proven experience leading or owning enterprise data governance programs
• Experience working with enterprise data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Power BI, Salesforce, NetSuite)
• Familiarity with data governance frameworks preferred
• Experience operating in regulated or audit-sensitive environments is a plus

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
