Sr DevOps Engineer

Vertex IT Systems is seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in automating deployment pipelines, optimizing cloud infrastructure, and ensuring system reliability across development and production environments

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments

• Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)

• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation

• Monitor system performance, availability, and security using modern observability tools

• Collaborate with development, QA, and security teams to ensure smooth releases

• Automate routine operational tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort

• Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and backup strategies

• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis

• Implement security best practices, access controls, and compliance standards

• Mentor junior DevOps engineers and contribute to best practices

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud, or Infrastructure Engineering

• Strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform)

• Expertise in CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps)

• Strong knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation)

• Proficiency in Linux/Unix system administration

• Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, or similar)

• Experience with monitoring/logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, CloudWatch)

• Solid understanding of networking, security, and system architecture
