Key Requirements/Notes
- 10+ years overall of BI experience; 7+ with PowerBI
-Power BI 7+ years experience; all net new development is in Power BI; Tableau is legacy
- Keen eye for design; detail oriented in how they design visuals and interactions
- Design focus less about aesthetics, more about understanding how visuals work come together on a page and fit into an overall dashboard; data flows at a high-level to make intuitive reporting and enderstand how multiple visuals connect as a cohesive dashboard
-Able to ask intelligent questions to understand requirements and design intent
-DAX calculations in Power BI
-Data modeling; ability to build complex calculations and metrics
-Basic understanding of SQL syntax; ability to write and optimize queries
-Python preferred; exposure is fine; will be used more for scripting going forward

Our expertise spans a wide range of business use cases, supporting everything from back-office operations to front-office deal sourcing and originations.
As the organization's data experts, we are committed to establishing robust data processes that provide timely, high-quality, and actionable insights to our business partners through intuitive, thoughtfully designed, and tailored reporting experiences.
We leverage a modern technology stack including Power BI, Tableau, Databricks, Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), and SQL Managed Instance to design and develop data solutions that support well-informed decision-making across all levels of the organization.
We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and inquisitive BI Developer to design, develop, and deliver intuitive, visually engaging Power BI reports and data solutions that address the diverse data and reporting needs across the Fortress organization. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for dashboard design, strong technical expertise, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to continuous improvement in data processes and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver intuitive, visually compelling Power BI reports tailored to the varied data requirements of the Fortress Credit business.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with business and technology partners to ensure alignment and successful project delivery.
- Lead brainstorming sessions and requirements-gathering discussions with cross-functional teams.
- Integrate data from multiple systems to provide comprehensive perspectives and data-driven narratives for business stakeholders.
- Develop and architect robust data models to enhance report performance and streamline report development.
- Create interactive and dynamic visualizations that provide actionable insights and drive business value.
- Advocate for and implement sound, practical data pipeline and reporting processes, operating with a continuous improvement mindset.
Qualifications
Experience
- 10+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a related field.
- Demonstrated success in designing and delivering intuitive, visually engaging Power BI reports and Paginated Reports; a portfolio of report designs is highly desirable.
- Relevant experience in private equity or finance preferred.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Power BI, including Power Query, DAX, data modeling, and advanced visualization techniques.
- Experience with Report Builder for designing and creating SSRS/Paginated Reports.
- Expertise in data profiling and developing optimized, organized queries in SQL and other relational databases
- Relevant experience with Tableau and Microsoft cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Fabric, ADLS, SQL MI).
- Experience with Python data transformation tools and libraries.
- Power BI or equivalent certifications are a plus.
