JOB DESCRIPTION:
Network Engineer to support and maintain a large-scale enterprise network spanning 80+ buildings across New York City. The role focuses on designing, deploying, and supporting a Fortinet firewall and Juniper switching environment, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
Responsibilities include troubleshooting and resolving network issues, managing and maintaining network configurations, responding to incidents, and collaborating closely with infrastructure and security teams to support a large, complex multi-site environment.

6+ years' experience in network administration and management.
Extensive routing, switching, and firewall experience supporting complex LAN/WAN security networks;
Experience with large IP switched/routed-based networks and firewalls; Knowledge of IP addressing and subnetting (IPv4/6), routing protocols, including BGP, OSPF, and MPLS;
Working knowledge of Virtual Private Networks;
Advanced installation/troubleshooting experience of Fortinet Firewall sand and related management software;
Advanced installation/troubleshooting experience of Juniper firewall/switch hardware/OS software;
Advanced installation/troubleshooting experience of Meraki and Forti-extenders for on-going WIFI project.
Strong knowledge of VPN tunneling and telecommunication protocols;
Excellent understanding of the Service Management environment, including operations, processes, etc.
Ability to quickly assist teams in diagnosing network, application, and system/server issues using common network tools and monitoring systems such as Network TAP, Wireshark, Riverbed Pilot/shark, and NetIM;
Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, including the resolution of escalated issues and events;
Understanding Linux/Unix, Windows operating system internals, including system security
Keep all documentation (including LAN/WAN drawings and equipment lists) accurate and current;
Develop authentication and authorization protocols, with experience in NAC technology (802.1x).
Works independently and exercises reasonable discernment with little supervision while providing clear documentation of activities and accomplishments.

Minimum Years of Experience: Six years.
Functional Description: Utilizes expertise to define procedures or standards to implement an emerging
technology for IT organizations. Defines performance objectives and determines acceptable performance levels.
Provide recommendations for procedural and technology improvements. Defines and plans the future of the IT
organizations which may include code development and support, designing, developing, installing, enhancing,
testing, troubleshooting, integrating and supporting applications. Conducts research and detailed analysis and
implements and upgrades technology products. Understands requisite knowledge that underlies effective
decision-making and is able to describe where anomalies or flaws may occur in the decision-making for subject
matter area of technology expertise. Acts as the "go to person for questions and problems within area of
technology expertise. Conducts research on emerging technologies. Assists in identifying best technology options
and create technology adoption road-maps. Collaborates with customer IT teams to implement new technologies.
