Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for an IT Sr. Scrum Master for a hybrid opportunity with one of our premier clients in Portsmouth, NH. Expectations is onsite 2 days a week.
Job Description
Our client is searching for a strong, initiative-focused project/program management leader. This Senior Scrum Master/Project Manager position will be aligned to the Telematics portfolio and will help drive planning, coordination, execution, and delivery across complex, cross-functional technology initiatives, including Identity & Access Management (IAM) initiatives.
This individual will partner with portfolio leadership to create structure, manage risks and dependencies, remove blockers, and ensure teams are aligned on priorities, timelines, milestones, and outcomes.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing technology initiatives involving IAM, authentication, authorization, access provisioning, security controls, identity governance, or related enterprise security capabilities. They should be comfortable working with technical teams and security stakeholders to coordinate IAM-related requirements, dependencies, implementations, and integrations without necessarily being a hands-on IAM engineer.
They will use data, metrics, and delivery insights to improve predictability, transparency, and execution. They will work closely with Engineering Managers, Business Partners, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Security/IAM teams, and other stakeholders to support cross-portfolio and cross-domain planning, roadmap alignment, dependency management, initiative health, and clear communication.
They will also drive Jira standardization to ensure high-quality data that supports automated allocation calculations for Shibumi.
Responsibilities
- Use a pragmatic, delivery-focused approach to help teams and leaders plan, organize, and execute complex technology initiatives.
- Build and maintain initiative plans, milestone views, RAID items, dependency maps, and communication routines to ensure work remains visible, prioritized, and on track.
- Facilitate portfolio-level planning and working sessions, helping teams clarify scope, sequence work, identify tradeoffs, and make timely decisions.
- Proactively manage risks, dependencies, blockers, and cross-team coordination across Engineering, Product, Business, Security, IAM, and portfolio stakeholders.
- Lead or support initiatives involving Identity & Access Management, including identity lifecycle, authentication/authorization, access provisioning, role-based access, identity governance, security integrations, and related enterprise capabilities.
- Coordinate IAM-related dependencies across applications, infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud, and business teams.
- Translate IAM and security requirements into actionable project plans, milestones, deliverables, and stakeholder communications.
- Use Lean-Agile practices and delivery metrics to improve predictability, flow, team health, and quality while maintaining a strong focus on outcomes and business value.
- Support Jira and delivery data standards to improve reporting, allocation accuracy, and transparency.
- Coach teams on effective planning, execution, and continuous improvement while fostering accountability, collaboration, and shared ownership.
- Understand the impact of organizational change and help leaders and teams navigate change with clear structure, communication, and follow-through.
- Actively participate in the Scrum Master and delivery community by sharing practices, lessons learned, and opportunities to improve initiative delivery.
External Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business, computer science, information technology, humanities, or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of related project/program management or Scrum Master experience.
- Experience working across multiple Agile teams and in a variety of organizational and technical contexts.
- Strong understanding of business functions, operations, strategies, and objectives.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex technology initiatives involving multiple teams, systems, and dependencies.
- Experience with Identity & Access Management (IAM) initiatives, including authentication, authorization, provisioning/deprovisioning, identity governance, role-based access, or enterprise security integrations.
- Ability to work effectively with cybersecurity, IAM, engineering, infrastructure, application, and business teams.
- Familiarity with software engineering delivery, including technical planning, dependencies, release coordination, and delivery risks.
- Strong expertise in Jira configuration, dashboards, reporting, and workflow management, with experience tracking large-scale initiatives, dependencies, risks, and delivery metrics across complex technology portfolios.
- Ability to partner effectively with Engineering Managers and technical teams to translate complex technical work into clear plans, milestones, and stakeholder communications.
- Continued and recent education in Lean-Agile practices through training, conferences, user groups, cohorts, self-study, or similar professional development.
- Knowledge/training equivalent to advanced/2nd-level certifications from a reputable Lean-Agile organization is a plus, including PSM II, ICAgile ICP-ATF, or ICAgile ICP-ACC.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of Telematics products, capabilities, data flows, or insurance-related use cases.
- Experience managing IAM, cybersecurity, cloud security, or enterprise access management programs.
- Familiarity with IAM platforms and concepts such as Okta, Microsoft Entra ID/Azure AD, SailPoint, CyberArk, Ping Identity, RBAC, SSO, MFA, and identity governance.
- Experience coordinating integrations between IAM platforms and enterprise applications.
- Experience with large-scale enterprise technology transformation initiatives.
