Summary

Description:
On-site in Cincinnati, OH

Our client is seeking a Platform Engineer to support, maintain, and enhance the Adaptiv market risk platform. The role focuses on stability, reliability, and scalability for regulatory, stress testing, and daily risk reporting. The engineer will collaborate with Risk, Quant, Data, and Infrastructure teams, grow into a subject-matter contributor, diagnose issues, execute platform changes, and strengthen operational resilience.

We can facilitate w2 and corp-to-corp consultants. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Rate: $45.00 to $55.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:
  • Learn the Adaptiv market risk platform architecture, configurations, batch processes, calculations, and integrations.
  • Provide production support for Adaptiv processing, including monitoring batch runs and system health, diagnosing and resolving job failures or data issues, and supporting month-end, stress, and regulatory processing.
  • Participate in an on-call or operational support rotation as required.
  • Maintain and configure Adaptiv components to meet evolving business and regulatory needs.
  • Perform environment maintenance, including upgrades, patching, configuration changes, and platform tuning.
  • Implement improvements to stability, reliability, observability, monitoring, error handling, and recoverability.
  • Reduce manual intervention through automation and operational tooling.
  • Serve as a technical responder for Adaptiv-related incidents and partner with vendors and internal teams to resolve complex issues.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis, implement preventative fixes, and contribute to post-incident reviews and continuous-improvement plans.
  • Collaborate with Market Risk, Credit Risk, Quantitative, Analytics, Data Engineering, and Platform teams.
  • Build working knowledge of market risk concepts such as VaR, sensitivities, and stress testing, and how Adaptiv outputs are consumed downstream.
  • Translate business and risk requirements into technical platform changes.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for workflows, configurations, failure modes, resolutions, and operational runbooks.
  • Contribute to shared ownership and reduce single-point-of-failure knowledge through documentation.

Experience Requirements:
  • 3+ years in platform engineering, production support, or systems engineering.
  • Experience supporting batch-oriented, compute-intensive platforms in production.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for complex system and data issues.
  • Working knowledge of Linux/Unix, scripting languages such as Python or Shell, and relational databases using SQL.
  • Comfort operating in a controlled, regulated production environment.
  • Preferred: Experience with Adaptiv or market risk platforms, financial services or risk technology background, familiarity with scheduling tools, cloud platforms and data services, and monitoring or observability tooling. Exposure to market risk concepts.

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
