In 1995, Hiniker branched into designing and manufacturing snow removal equipment, which is a trusted tool for many. We are currently seeking a
Machinist with strong experience in
manufacturing environments. This position is located in Mankato, MN.
Machinist Summary The Toolmaker role is responsible to create precision tools to aid in the company's manufacturing processes. This position will include grinding, turning, and milling material to create the required parts and jigs. Will assist in the design of the parts and jigs in CAD software and/or will interpret blueprints from the organization's product designers. This position requires troubleshooting abilities of production issues, being able to drive root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions. Must be able to communicate effectively across all departments and platforms.
Machinist Responsibilities - Proficiency in reading, using precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers and indicators, operating toolroom equipment and skilled in CAD/CAM software
- Program CNC and manually operated toolroom equipment
- Ability to work with tight tolerances and capable of trouble-shooting tooling and fixturing issues
- Perform maintenance on your machines
- Maintain excellent housekeeping and follow 5S principles
Machinist Education & Experience: - High school diploma or GED certificate
- Technical Trade School or Associated Degree in Machine Tool Technology
- 3-5 years tool and die making experience
Machinist Skills - Strong mechanical skills and problem-solving abilities
- Experience with CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks
