Its platform is an advanced Loan Origination System designed to help mortgage lenders streamline complex workflows through AI-powered document management, automated task lists, configurable business rules, and other tools that improve efficiency and enable lenders to scale. The company is looking for a Senior/Staff Design Engineer who combines strong software engineering skills with exceptional product and visual design instincts. This is a hands-on role for someone who cares deeply about the details of user interface and experience and wants to ensure the product feels as good as it functions. You'll bring genuine frontend engineering craft to every component you ship, working from initial concepts in Figma through production implementation in React and TypeScript.
As a Design Engineer, you'll own the end-to-end design process while helping build the systems that maintain a consistent and high-quality experience across the product. You'll develop and maintain a scalable design system and component library using shadcn/ui, build accessible production-quality React components, and establish visual and interaction standards. You'll also work closely with Product and Engineering to turn complex, data-dense mortgage workflows into intuitive and elegant user experiences.
This is an opportunity for an experienced Senior-level engineer who wants meaningful ownership over both the technical and design quality of a product. The ideal candidate has a genuine software engineering background, deep React/TypeScript expertise, strong Figma skills, and experience building design systems on top of production frontend engineering experience. The team is remote and values collaboration, open communication, quick feedback loops, and people who enjoy diving deeply into complex problems.
Required Skills & Experience - 5+ years of experience in a Design Engineer or Frontend/Full Stack Software Engineer role shipping production code
- At least 5 years of experience operating at a Senior Engineer level
- Strong production-level experience with React and TypeScript
- Genuine software engineering background with a frontend focus
- Deep proficiency with Figma, including libraries, variants, and Auto Layout
- Experience building and maintaining design systems and component libraries
- Strong understanding of frontend engineering and production software development
- Strong design instincts and exceptional attention to UI and interaction details
- Experience translating complex workflows into intuitive user experiences
Desired Skills & Experience - Experience working at a high-growth enterprise B2B SaaS company with complex, data-dense user interfaces
- Experience at a high-growth consumer technology company with a strong focus on visual design and animation
- Experience with shadcn/ui and modern component-driven development
- Experience building accessible React applications using correct ARIA patterns, keyboard navigation, and focus management
- Experience working closely with Product and Engineering teams on product design and implementation
- Experience in fintech, mortgage technology, or other complex financial workflows
What You Will Be Doing Daily Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end design process from wireframing and prototyping in Figma through production implementation
- Build production-quality user interfaces using React and TypeScript
- Build and maintain a scalable design system and component library using shadcn/ui
- Develop accessible React components with appropriate ARIA, keyboard, and focus management
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering to transform complex mortgage workflows into intuitive and elegant experiences
- Define and enforce visual and interaction design standards across the product
- Partner with engineers to ensure designs maintain a high level of quality from initial concept through production
- Continuously improve the consistency, usability, and visual quality of the product
- Bring strong attention to detail across everything from individual components to broader product experiences
The Offer You will receive the following benefits:
