Rate                                      : $50/hr - $55/hr

Key Responsibilities

·         Deploy, configure, and manage Apache Kafka clusters in production environments.

·         Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and failover strategies are implemented and maintained.

·         Monitor cluster health, performance, and capacity using tools like Grafana, Prometheus, and JMX metrics.

·         Manage Kafka ecosystem tools including Kafka Connect and Schema Registry.

·         Perform upgrades, patching, and cluster maintenance with minimal downtime.

·         Troubleshoot issues related to networking, disk I/O, JVM performance, tuning.

·         Implement and enforce security best practices including TLS, ACLs, RBAC, and encryption (in transit & at rest).

·         Automate infrastructure and operational workflows using Terraform, Ansible, Helm, and Kubernetes (EKS/AKS/GKE).

·         Develop automation scripts and operational runbooks using Python or Bash.

·         Participate in 24x7 on-call rotations, incident management, and postmortem analysis.

·         Ensure seamless communication between on-prem and cloud environments.

·         Manage topic configurations, partitions, replication, and retention policies.

·         Collaborate with development and DevOps teams for CI/CD integration and Git-based workflows.

Must Skills:

·         production-grade Apache Kafka clusters

·         Kafka Connect, Schema Registry

·         Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk

·         Terraform, Ansible, Helm

·         Kubernetes (EKS/AKS/GKE or equivalent)

·         Scripting: Python or Bash

·         Strong Linux system administration skills

·         TCP/IP, routing, switching, firewall configurations

·         TLS, ACLs, RBAC

·         JVM tuning, analysis

·         Disk & network performance troubleshooting
