Randstad is seeking a highly skilled Senior SAP Functional Analyst for an exciting opportunity with a premier client in Washington, D.C. In this role, you will independently support, design, and implement enhancements across a robust suite of licensed SAP products (including SAP Business Suite, Ariba, and SuccessFactors). Serving as a critical bridge between business lines and technical teams, you will act as a primary configuration resource, lead operational support, and mentor junior team members. This position requires a proactive professional who can analyze complex business requirements and deliver scalable technical solutions with minimal to no supervision.

responsibilities:

Application Configuration & Support: Provide expert configuration across one or more SAP applications based on business needs, managing production support through planned releases, break-fix resolutions, and emergency situations.


Requirements Gathering & Analysis: Lead structured requirements processes (gathering, analyzing, documenting, and managing changes) to identify business priorities, advise on technical options, and contribute factual content to project feasibility studies.


Functional Specifications & Development: Write detailed functional specifications and collaborate closely with technical resources to coordinate the development and testing of system changes.


Testing & Quality Assurance: Assist in developing user test cases, validate test results during user acceptance testing (UAT), and investigate, resolve, or escalate complex application problems.


Business Liaison & Training: Promote an understanding of IT roles and processes across various business units, assist in developing user manuals, and support user training initiatives.


Project Management & Documentation: Support formal project status reporting, monitor customer satisfaction metrics, and maintain comprehensive documentation in the team's knowledge repository.


Mentorship: Act as a technical and functional guide, mentoring other team members to elevate overall team capabilities.




qualifications:

Experience Level: Proven experience operating at a Senior level, with a demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal to no supervision.


SAP Expertise: Deep functional knowledge and configuration experience in one or several SAP technologies, such as SAP Business Suite (ERP, SCM, SRM, CRM), Ariba, and SuccessFactors.


Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in writing functional specifications, designing business solutions, and partnering with technical development teams.


Analytical Skills: Excellent capability in structured business analysis, requirement elicitation, and metric evaluation.


Communication & Collaboration: Superb communication skills with a track record of bridging the gap between IT and diverse business units, as well as experience mentoring junior analysts.


Location Requirements: Ability to work with the client based in the Washington, D.C. area.
