Title: Business Analyst Payment Controls and Workflow Review

Location: New York /New Jersey

Role Overview

We are seeking two experienced Business Analysts to review, analyze, and document payment flows across the bank s architecture. This work will focus on platforms including Murex, Sophis, OpenLink, and related upstream and downstream systems.

The objective of this role is to help the bank strengthen payment workflow controls, validate that best practices are being followed, and identify weaknesses in approval timing, process design, and system interaction that could lead to duplicate or incorrect payments.

Key Responsibilities

Review and document end-to-end payment flows across the bank s architecture.

Analyze how payment instructions move through systems including Murex, Sophis, OpenLink, and other connected platforms.

Identify workflow, approval, timing, and control gaps that may create risk of duplicate, delayed, or incorrect payments.

Assess existing payment approval processes against industry best practices and internal control expectations.

Work with business, operations, technology, and control teams to clarify current-state processes and dependencies.

Produce clear process maps, flow diagrams, control inventories, and requirements documentation.

Support investigation of system behavior and workflow logic, including collaboration with internal technical teams for code review where needed.

Help define recommendations for stronger payment controls, approval checkpoints, and workflow governance.

Assist in documenting future-state process improvements and control enhancements.

Required Qualifications

Strong experience as a Business Analyst in banking or capital markets environments.

Deep knowledge of payment controls, payment workflows, and approval best practices.

Hands-on experience working with Murex, Sophis, and OpenLink.

Proven ability to review, decipher, and document complex payment flows across multiple systems.

Familiarity with industry standards and control frameworks related to payment approvals, operational risk, and workflow governance.

Experience working closely with both business stakeholders and technical teams.

Strong documentation skills, including process mapping, requirements gathering, and control documentation.

Ability to operate effectively in a high-risk, high-visibility environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in investment banking, treasury, capital markets, or operations/control functions.

Exposure to incident review, root cause analysis, or remediation programs involving payment failures or control breakdowns.

Ability to participate in technical walkthroughs and support code or logic reviews with engineering teams.

Experience with workflow timing analysis, exception handling, and reconciliation processes.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a strong banking Business Analyst who understands how payments move across trading, operations, and settlement ecosystems, and can quickly break down complex workflows across multiple platforms. They should be comfortable working across business and technology teams and be able to turn complex system behavior into clear documentation and actionable recommendations.

Education: At least a bachelor s degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Software/Electronics Engineering, Information Systems, or a closely related field is required.
