Electrical Estimator

Job Summary

• Position Type: This is a full-time, in-office role for a rapidly growing Local 363 USWU shop.

• Core Objective: The primary focus of the role is to prepare comprehensive cost estimates, assemble bids, and submit formal proposals to clients.

• Key Operations: The position involves conducting labor and material cost research, managing vendor/subcontractor quotes, building strong client relationships, and collaborating directly with company ownership to develop bidding strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze Bid Documents: Thoroughly review and understand the project scopes and requirements detailed in all bidding documents.

• Cost Research: Conduct research to gather accurate data on labor costs, materials, production times, and other project variables.

• Vendor & Subcontractor Management: Obtain, review, and evaluate competitive offers and quotes from vendors and subcontractors, while building long-term relationships with key supply houses.

• Proposal Submission: Assemble comprehensive cost estimates and generate professional proposals to submit to clients.

• Client Relations: Build and maintain strong client relationships to pitch services and gather feedback on submitted bids.

• Strategic Planning: Review the bid board directly with company ownership to align on bidding strategies, prioritize new requests, and provide consultative support during project kickoff meetings.

Qualifications & Skills

• Professional Experience: Proven track record and experience working as an electrical estimator.

• Technical Proficiency: Solid understanding of estimation formulas and data analysis methods. Proficient in EBM Vision or comparable estimating software (such as Accubid).
