Responsibilities:
JOB SUMMARY
TheService Tech-Level 5is responsiblefor repairingandoverhaulingequipment, refrigeration,heatingand ventilation equipmentto ensurecustomer needs are metefficiently, accurately andon time.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Providesservice to the customer base by repairing and overhauling equipment, suchascompressors, water pumps, air handlers, electrical and mechanical controldevicesthatexceedthe customer?s expectations.
- Providesgeneral repair work on refrigeration,heatingand ventilation equipment, suchasair conditioning units, evaporative condensers, ice machine equipment, water pumps, gas furnaces,compressorsand electric motors
- Providespreventative maintenance activities for customers by diagnosing equipment malfunction and any operating deficiency of the mechanical equipmentto ensurequality work performance for the customer base.
- Providesdepartment support by processing job tickets, work orders to the necessary department in a timely manner.
- Provides necessary training to new or less qualified technicians as needed.
- Maintains proper truck inventorycontinuously anddrives companyvehiclein a safe manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education / Training
- High school diploma or GED.
- Course work at an accredited vocational technical or trade school;
- 3 - 6year\'s experiencein commercial HVAC, refrigeration, ice machine and gas furnace required.
- Must have passed Tech SkillsLevel 5 withan80% or better.
- Must have a valid EPA certificate.
- Basic knowledge of refrigeration, HVAC, ice machines, gas furnaces, and electrical.
Work Experience & Skills
- Experience working on refrigeration equipment in convenience and supermarket stores.
- Knowledge of refrigeration, HVAC, ice machines, gas furnaces, and electrical.
- Working knowledge of single systems, rack systems, display cases and walk-in boxes.
- Ability totroubleshoot and repair computer controls.
- Good communicationskillsand the ability to build strong relationships with customers, and management.
- Ability to take direction from Sr. Specialist or Supervisor.
- Must havea good drivingrecord and be able to work independently.
- Emergency on-call availability is a basic requirement.

Work Environment
This job typically operates in convenience stores, grocery stores, food service and/or construction environment with need to work at heights from ladders and/or Scissor lifts.Mechanical rooms can have elevated noise levels.The position regularly works near/with refrigeration/HVAC equipment that can expose the workers to extreme cold from refrigerant and high heat from brazing operations.This role routinely works in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust.These conditions require employees to use the correct PPE and safe work practices.
Physical Demands
This position is very active and requires excellent stamina to perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. Employees are regularly required to walk and stand for long periods, hear, drive, sit, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, use hands and fingers, and lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
