Job Description:
Technical Program Manager - Manufacturing

Location: Wilmington, MA

Role Overview

An established leader in technology is seeking a Technical Program Manager to oversee complex, large-scale manufacturing programs. The selected candidate will manage end-to-end program delivery, including establishing schedules, defining milestones, mitigating risks, and driving cross-functional execution across production lines. This onsite role requires a hands-on operator who thrives on the production floor and can comfortably interface with equipment, processes, and automation systems to build out new capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish the operational mechanisms and cadence to manage large-scale manufacturing programs, schedules, and milestones across production lines.
  • Manage escalations and misalignments when delivery quality is at risk, facilitating trade-off decisions with stakeholders and external vendors.
  • Analyze technical decisions to determine long-term impacts, managing the discussions required to align on expectations and risk mitigation.
  • Translate complex risks and technical details into succinct updates for leadership to enable effective decision-making on tight deadlines.
  • Develop and publish clear RACI frameworks to establish transparency, ownership, and accountability across cross-functional teams.
  • Coordinate directly with internal engineering teams and equipment integrators to ensure alignment on automated and semi-automated production lines.
Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations, or a related technical discipline is preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 8 years of technical program or product management experience, with at least 8 years working directly with engineering teams, and a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing or production floor environment.

Technical Skills: Proven ability to build operational processes, coordinate release schedules across cross-functional teams, and manage complex technology or capital-equipment projects.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience in high-volume or automotive-grade manufacturing environments.
  • Experience managing automated or semi-automated line deployments, including direct collaboration with integrators or original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
  • Proficiency with professional project management software and data-driven program tracking tools.
