POSITION OVERVIEW

Client is seeking a Project Manager to provide tactical support to the strategic program manager for bioinformatics and the head of bioinformatics. This role supports bioinformatics-related acquisition integration, coordinating cross-functional working groups, tracking risks and dependencies, and keeping leadership informed through clear, consistent communication. The ideal candidate is comfortable stepping into a project already underway and thrives in a fast-paced integration environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

      Support project management activities related to an ongoing acquisition, working directly with leaders from the client and the acquired company.

      Working group coordination: organize and launch working groups for specific focus areas, including Code Ocean implementation, metadata management, and data storage.

      Project documentation: draft and maintain detailed timelines, objectives, and deliverables based on functional and technical input from the working groups.

      Risk and dependency management: develop and monitor risk registries and identify critical dependencies across workstreams to ensure milestones are met.

      Meeting facilitation: schedule and lead working group meetings, ensuring progress is tracked and action items are clearly documented and followed up.

      Communication systems: implement and manage effective communication structures across working groups to maintain alignment and provide timely status updates to the strategic lead.

      Manage financial forecasts, action items, and status reports.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

5–7 years of experience in the following areas:

      Life sciences experience: demonstrated experience managing projects within life sciences data management, bioinformatics, or data strategy environments.

      Communication skills: strong organizational and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between technical teams and management.

      Technical literacy: ability to understand and use bioinformatics and data management vocabulary to translate requirements into actionable plans.

      Tools: proficiency in Smartsheet and Confluence is highly preferred.

      Platform familiarity: previous experience with platform integration; familiarity with Code Ocean or similar platforms is a significant plus.

      Experience with integrations / M&A.

      Organized, professional, and comfortable jumping into a project that''s already underway.

      Able to work onsite in Mettawa three days a week (Tuesday–Thursday), 8:30 AM–4:30 PM.

      College degree required.
