Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Application Programmer III to join our team supporting multi-asset risk and pricing platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Core Java, system design, distributed computing, and performance tuning and a proven ability to deliver scalable features, optimize applications, and support complex financial systems.
Responsibilities:
- Design massively parallel distributed systems using compute grids.
- Write and modify code across multiple Java applications.
- Upgrade major Java versions and manage related dependencies.
- Perform performance tuning and debugging of existing applications.
- Implement new features based on business requirements for risk and pricing workflows.
- Develop SQL for data access, transformation, and reporting.
- Provide L3 support as needed for production systems.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Core Java development, JVM fundamentals, and performance profiling.
- System design for distributed, high-throughput, low-latency platforms.
- Proficiency in RDBMS and SQL; data management and analysis capability.
- Application development experience in Java or Python; Quartz experience is a plus.
- Experience upgrading Java versions and optimizing JVM settings.
- Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to work across management levels.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience participating in large or complex projects and engaging cross-functional teams.
- Financial products experience required; risk knowledge is a plus.
- Minimum 5-8 years of progressive experience in the banking industry.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with compute grids and massively parallel processing in financial services.
- Background in multi-asset risk and pricing platforms.
