Summary

Introduction:

As a Web Application Developer, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our core Perl-based web application, ensuring performance, reliability, and security. You will work closely with internal teams to implement critical system features, optimize database interactions, and streamline development workflows.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain existing Perl web application code to ensure high performance, stability, and security.
  • Design, develop, and deploy new features and enhancements for the application.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to define requirements, architecture, and deployment strategies.
  • Manage and optimize database interactions using SQL to ensure data integrity and efficiency.
  • Utilize modern development tools, including VSCode and Git, to manage source control and streamline development workflows.
  • Follow coding best practices, perform code reviews, and ensure adherence to development standards.
  • Work closely with internal teams to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Provide input and feedback on system enhancements and process improvements.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  1. Proficiency in Perl development.
  2. Front-end development skills: HTML/CSS and JavaScript.
  3. SQL for database querying and management.
  4. Experience with Git and development environment management with VSCode.
  5. Strong, hands-on Perl development experience.
  6. HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  7. SQL and database optimization.
  8. Git and modern development workflows (VSCode).
  9. Problem-solving ability in ambiguous or legacy environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with other programming languages such as Python or Node.js.
  • Familiarity with Linux, Docker, and Shell scripting.
  • Proficiency with MySQL or PostgreSQL.
  • Experience working with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform).
  • Prior experience in Financial or Transportation industries is a plus.
