Genesis10 is currently seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer for a 9+ month contract position with our client, a Global Manufacturing Company, located in San Fernando, CA.
Compensation: $50.00 per hour, depending on skill and experience level. This role involves planning and conducting activities concerned with the quality assurance of industrial processes, materials, and products. The ideal candidate will perform quality engineering reviews, apply statistical process control (SPC) methods, and develop new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities.
Responsibilities: - Plan and conduct the analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration to assure the quality of assigned products or components
- Perform quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements
- Apply statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate current processes and process changes
- Review all purchased products or components and provide input to the decision on acceptance and future purchases
- Document data obtained during all quality assurance activities, consistent with company policies and procedures
- Develop new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities
- Communicate significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provide recommended process improvements
- Prepare reports to communicate involvement and results of quality assurance activities
- Maintain a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards
Requirements: - Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to synthesize complex or diverse information and research data
- Project management skills to develop project plans, coordinate projects, and manage team activities
- Experience with quality management, with a focus on improving and promoting quality, accuracy, and thoroughness
- Ability to manage staff in planning, decision-making, and process improvement
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Desired skills: - Ability to generate creative solutions and translate concepts into images with attention to detail
- Understanding of business implications of decisions and knowledge of market competition
- Cost consciousness with the ability to work within an approved budget and implement cost-saving measures
- Knowledge of EEO policy and respect for cultural differences
