Project Overview
Due to the migration, modernization, and upgrade of multiple financial and administrative systems to standardized enterprise platforms, additional technical support is required. This role supports system modernization initiatives, legacy component upgrades, and transition into steady-state operational support.
The team aligns business needs with current and future system states, ensuring platforms follow industry best practices, support strategic initiatives, maintain regulatory compliance, and ensure business continuity.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, team-oriented, able to work under limited supervision, and responsive to high-priority tasks.
Position Summary
The SAP HR Systems Technician supports the configuration, maintenance, and enhancement of enterprise Human Resources systems, with a primary focus on SAP ECC HR platforms and related HR applications.
This role is responsible for implementing system configuration changes, optimizing workflows, improving data quality, supporting reporting needs, and ensuring system functionality aligns with operational goals and compliance standards.
The position requires close collaboration with HR, IT, and Finance teams and includes hands-on configuration, testing, documentation, troubleshooting, and workflow-driven system optimization.
Key Responsibilities
System Configuration & Workflow Optimization
Configure and maintain SAP ECC HR modules to support evolving business needs
Recommend and implement workflow-based solutions to reduce manual processes
Identify system capabilities and limitations to propose modernization solutions
Collaborate on position-based access controls and data security models
Maintain system configuration documentation to support audits and change management
Testing & Implementation
Perform unit, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
Support production deployments and minimize operational disruption
Troubleshoot system issues and escalate complex problems as needed
Data Quality & Reporting
Monitor and improve data accuracy and integrity across HR systems
Develop and maintain reports and dashboards using SAP tools, Excel, and Power BI
Reconcile data between systems and recommend corrective actions
Support audit and compliance reporting
Documentation & User Support
Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and user guides
Provide technical support to HR users and assist with system training
Maintain documentation repositories and collaboration tools
Collaboration & Communication
Work cross-functionally with HR, IT, and Finance teams
Participate in requirements gathering and technical solution design
Support policy development related to system security and data classification
Align system practices with NIST 800-53, FISMA, and state information security standards
Project & Change Management Support
Support HR system modernization initiatives and technical deliverables
Manage and track work requests through ticketing systems (e.g., DevOps)
Support risk mitigation and compliance with IT security standards
Assist with cybersecurity policy alignment related to data confidentiality and protection
Compliance & Operational Requirements
Adherence to agency IT standards, security policies, and documentation requirements
Execution of confidentiality and data protection agreements as required
Secure implementation of all web services
No rate uplifts permitted beyond established contract limits
Onsite participation may be required during designated contract weeks
All developed source code and deliverables become the sole property of the contracting public entity
Programming and technical decisions are subject to final agency approval
