Test and Integration Engineer

Leidos is seeking a Test and Integration Engineer to lead cutting-edge testing and validation efforts within the Maritime System Solutions (MSS) Portfolio of our Maritime Systems Division (MSD). This role is a unique opportunity to drive innovation in testing underwater vehicle systems, maritime sensors, subsea telemetry, and ISR solutions that support critical defense and national security missions.

You'll contribute to a multidisciplinary team focused on testing, integrating, and validating advanced maritime technologies, ensuring system reliability and performance from prototype design to full-scale system deployment for ongoing Navy missions.

Leidos' Maritime Systems Division is a recognized leader in C4ISR technologies, delivering innovative, mission-critical solutions across sensor networks, unmanned systems, and tactical platforms. We're known for achieving "industry firsts" in the most challenging maritime domains.

Join us and be part of a world-class team delivering unmatched solutions for today's most pressing maritime missions.

Why Join Us?
  • Make an Impact: Your work will directly support U.S. maritime dominance and national security.
  • Lead Innovation: Be at the forefront of applying innovative technology and autonomy to real-world maritime systems.
  • Work with Experts: Collaborate with a top-tier team of engineers, scientists, and technicians located across the U.S.
  • Shape the Future: Influence both the strategic and tactical direction of next-generation subsea technologies.

What You'll Do
  • Test and Validate: Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, procedures, and protocols to ensure system functionality, reliability, and compliance with requirements.
  • Integrate systems and conduct hands-on testing: Develop and execute integration plans to bring complex systems together. Perform hands-on testing, validation, and verification of software and hardware systems, including integrated electro-mechanical systems.
  • Collaborate: Work closely with systems engineers, software developers, and hardware teams to identify and resolve issues during testing phases.
  • Automate Testing: Develop automated testing frameworks and tools to streamline validation processes.
  • Analyze Results: Document and analyze test results, providing detailed reports and recommendations for system improvements.
  • Support Development: Ensure a "design for testing" focus during system development and integration.
  • Mentor Team: Guide and mentor a matrixed team of engineers through testing phases of the product lifecycle.

What You Bring

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Ocean), Computer Science, Physics, or Math.
  • 4-8+ years of hands-on testing, integration, validation, and verification experience with software and integrated electro-mechanical systems including developing test procedures.
  • Strong software background and experience with testing frameworks, scripting languages, and automation tools.
  • Proficiency in test automation, data acquisition systems, and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain a SECRET clearance.

Preferred Experience:
  • Familiarity with UUVs, deployed subsea systems, and underwater payloads.
  • Experience with designing, writing, executing, and evaluating system integration bench tests.
  • Experience performing software system subcomponent testing/integration and using Matlab or Python for data analysis.
  • Proven track record in developing automated testing frameworks and transitioning designs to production.
  • Experience with test data management systems and statistical analysis of test results.
