Job title: Senior Engineer – Interior Components & Systems

Location: Arizona or Michigan (Onsite – 100%)

Duration: Long Term Contract

 

Responsibilities

  • Contribute significantly to a world-class Interior Components and Systems engineering team
  • Develop industry-leading interior systems focusing on luxury, craftsmanship, performance, safety, ergonomics, and functionality
  • Support packaging, engineering, release, and launch of interior systems across the portfolio
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (marketing, design, vehicle engineering)
  • Prioritize overall vehicle benefit over individual systems
  • Work with suppliers to ensure technical excellence and timely delivery
  • Develop and use effective tools and innovative approaches for product development

Mandatory Skills to Highlight in Resume

  • 4+ years of experience in Interior Components and Systems Development
    (hard trim, soft trim, instrument panel (IP), door trims, consoles, headliners, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of automotive interior components and systems, including:
    • Industry benchmarks
    • Market trends
    • Supplier capabilities
  • Proven experience in:
    • Creating and defining technical product specifications
    • Establishing and managing development timelines
    • Supporting accelerated development toward SOP (Start of Production)
  • Hands-on experience with CAD tools for:
    • 2D/3D concept design
    • Packaging layouts
    • DFM (Design for Manufacturing) studies
    • CATIA V5/V6 preferred
  • Vehicle / Product launch experience
  • Solid understanding of:
    • Plastic part design
    • Manufacturing processes (especially injection molding)
    • GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
    • Structural performance, ergonomics, and safety requirements
  • Experience working with suppliers / vendors to ensure:
    • Technical feasibility
    • On-time delivery
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams (design, engineering, marketing)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (mandatory)
  • Location requirement: Must be based in Arizona or Michigan
