Position Overview

The consultant will prepare, conduct, and document requirement elicitation activities. The role involves applying critical thinking to streamline processes, improve user experience, and effectively communicate business and solution requirements between internal stakeholders and technical teams.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

1. Requirements Elicitation & Documentation

Partner with business teams to define problems and validate project scope.
Conduct meetings, interviews, workshops, surveys, and analysis with SMEs and stakeholders to gather functional and non-functional requirements.
Translate business needs into structured formats understandable by both business and technical stakeholders.

2. Solution Requirements & Design Collaboration

Derive and adapt system design requirements based on architectural decisions.
Define quality attributes, constraints, and non-functional requirements.
Collaborate with developers, architects, and testers to analyze tradeoffs and document interface requirements.

3. Requirements Management & Communication

Maintain traceability from initial requirements through testing.
Manage change requests, evaluate scope expansions, and maintain consistency.
Present requirements in written, verbal, and visual/graphical model formats.

4. Testing Planning & Defect Tracking

Partner with testing leads to formulate test considerations and validation strategies.
Manage defect resolution processes and align disposition to requirements.

5. Business Analysis Center of Excellence & Governance

Lead standard operating procedures (SOPs) for requirements engineering.
Conduct peer reviews, mentor junior business analysts, and promote requirement reuse across projects.

Mandatory Experience & Qualifications

Skill Level: Senior (60–84 months of experience working independently, providing guidance, and creating core deliverables).
General Requirements Analysis: 72+ months performing requirements gathering, system design, and written documentation.
Elicitation Techniques: 72+ months utilizing methods such as prototyping, reverse engineering, focus groups, interviews, and workshops.
Translation & Bridge-Building: 72+ months translating complex business needs into developer-friendly specifications.
Solution & Non-Functional Design: 72+ months managing architecture-driven non-functional requirements and quality attributes.
Scope & Traceability: 72+ months leading defect/requirements scope management and maintaining end-to-end traceability.
Visual & Verbal Communication: 72+ months preparing/presenting visual models, flowcharts, and documentation to diverse audiences.
Testing & Quality Assurance: 12+ months collaborating with test leads on requirement-based testing and defect tracking.
