Job Title: Project Manager - Senior (Contract Administrator)
Location: Providence, RI
Duration: 12 Months (Contract)
Job Summary
We are seeking a senior-level Project Manager / Contract Administrator to support enterprise initiatives through effective vendor management, contract oversight, and project delivery. This role is responsible for driving vendor performance, ensuring contract compliance, and supporting continuous process improvement and strategic projects within an Enterprise PMO environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong IT contract management experience, procurement knowledge, and leadership skills, with the ability to operate independently in a complex, matrixed organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and administer vendor contracts, ensuring adherence to contractual terms and conditions
- Monitor vendor performance using SLAs, KPIs, and key deliverables; establish and track corrective action plans as needed
- Support contract amendments, renewals, and negotiations aligned with organizational goals and budgets
- Coordinate with legal teams for contract interpretation and compliance guidance when required
- Assist with procurement activities in accordance with state and federal purchasing guidelines, including hardware and software
- Review and facilitate approval of vendor invoices and contract-related reporting
- Implement best practices, dashboards, and scorecards for ongoing vendor performance reviews
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with vendors and internal stakeholders
- Analyze contract provisions to ensure compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures
- Lead or support continuous process improvement initiatives and strategic PMO projects
- Provide thought leadership on contract management and vendor governance initiatives
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Experience & Skills
- Bachelor s degree (IT, Vendor Management, or related field preferred)
- Master s degree preferred
- 10+ years of IT project management experience, including vendor management and application implementation or maintenance/support
- 8-10+ years of IT contract and supplier management experience, including:
- Statement of Work (SOW) development and scope definition
- RFP/RFI drafting and evaluation
- Contract negotiations (terms, pricing, renewals, and change orders)
- Ongoing SLA and performance management
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level communication
- Proven ability to drive vendor performance through governance and metrics
- Experience managing conflict and working effectively in matrixed environments
- Knowledge of SDLC methodologies and application development processes
- Experience with ITIL practices (incident and problem management)
- Proficiency with JIRA, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with integrated eligibility systems and federal partner interfaces is a plus
- PMP certification is a plus
