Atlassian Engineer (Jira and JSM and Confluence) - Remote

We are seeking a Jira Platform Consultant / Atlassian Full Stack Platform Engineer with deep expertise across the Atlassian ecosystem to design, implement, and optimize Jira-based solutions at scale. This role will act as a trusted advisor, helping shape how work flows across teams using Jira Service Management (JSM), Jira Software, and Confluence as a unified platform.

Key Responsibilities:

Atlassian Platform Architecture & Strategy

• Design and evolve Atlassian platform architecture across Jira Service Management, Jira Software, and Confluence
• Advise on best practices, scalability, governance, and long-term roadmap
• Align Atlassian tools with business processes and frameworks such as ITIL, Agile, and DevOps

Jira Service Management (JSM)

• Lead end-to-end JSM implementations and enhancements
• Configure:
  • Service portals and request types
  • Incident, problem, change, and service request workflows
  • SLAs, automation rules, approvals, and escalations
• Configure and optimize CMDB / Assets schemas and relationships
• Build dashboards and reporting for operational visibility

Jira Software

• Configure and support Agile delivery teams
• Design workflows, issue types, fields, screens, and permission schemes
• Enable seamless integration between Jira Software and JSM

Confluence

• Design and manage Confluence spaces for documentation and knowledge management
• Build runbooks, templates, and governance structures
• Integrate Confluence with Jira and JSM for self-service and contextual knowledge

Automation, Integrations & Analytics

• Develop automation using Jira automation and marketplace tools (ScriptRunner, JMWE, etc.)
• Integrate Atlassian tools with enterprise systems (SSO, monitoring, collaboration tools, asset tools)
• Build dashboards and reporting using JQL, Atlassian Analytics, and other tools

Governance & Enablement

• Establish governance standards for Jira and Confluence (permissions, templates, configurations)
• Provide training, documentation, and knowledge transfer
• Act as a consultant to stakeholders for process improvement and adoption

Required Skills:

• Strong hands-on experience with:
  • Jira Service Management (JSM)
  • Jira Software
  • Confluence
• Deep understanding of:
  • Jira workflows, schemes, permissions, and data models
  • Advanced JQL and reporting
  • Automation rules and customization
• Experience implementing ITSM frameworks (ITIL), Agile, and DevOps
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience working in enterprise and multi-team environments

Preferred Skills:

• Atlassian Certifications (Jira, JSM, Confluence – ACP)
• Experience with Atlassian Cloud administration and governance
• Experience with marketplace apps (ScriptRunner, JMWE, Tempo, etc.)
• Experience in compliance-driven environments
• Knowledge of SQL / BI tools / analytics from Jira data
