Job Title: BA/QA
Location: VA ( Remote )
Job Overview:
We are seeking a Business Analyst / QA Analyst to support the modernization of the MicroTower field equipment platform and the Overwatch cloud-based application. This role will work closely with business stakeholders, engineering teams, product owners, and end users to gather requirements, document business processes, validate system functionality, and ensure successful delivery of modernization initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have experience supporting software development projects involving system modernization, cloud applications, integrations, data platforms, and complex technical environments. Experience working with embedded systems, aviation-related applications, or industrial technology platforms is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
  • Business Analysis
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business, functional, and technical requirements.
  • Facilitate requirements workshops, stakeholder interviews, and process discovery sessions.
  • Develop Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirements Documents (FRDs), user stories, use cases, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
  • Analyze existing legacy system workflows and assist in documenting current-state and future-state processes.
  • Support requirements traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Partner with engineering teams to clarify requirements and resolve business questions.
  • Assist with change management activities and user adoption efforts.
Quality Assurance
  • Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test scenarios.
  • Perform functional, integration, regression, system, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Validate data migrations, system integrations, and end-to-end business workflows.
  • Track, document, and manage defects through resolution.
  • Work closely with developers to reproduce and troubleshoot issues.
  • Verify implementation of business requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Support release validation and production deployment activities.
  • Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain project documentation, requirements repositories, and testing artifacts.
  • Create user guides, process documentation, and training materials.
  • Provide status reporting on requirements, testing progress, defects, and project risks.
  • Support audit and compliance documentation as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor''''s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, QA Analyst, or Business Systems Analyst.
  • Experience gathering and documenting business and functional requirements.
  • Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
  • Experience developing and executing test plans and test cases.
  • Experience validating APIs, integrations, databases, and web applications.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience using tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, TestRail, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with SQL for data validation and testing.
Key Deliverables
  • Business and functional requirements documentation.
  • User stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Test plans, test scripts, and test execution results.
  • Defect logs and quality metrics.
  • UAT coordination and sign-off documentation.
  • Process maps and workflow documentation.
  • Release readiness and validation reports.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting software modernization or legacy system migration projects.
  • Experience with cloud-based applications and SaaS platforms.
  • Familiarity with embedded systems, IoT, industrial platforms, or hardware-integrated applications.
  • Experience with aviation, telecommunications, satellite communications, or operational technology environments.
  • Knowledge of API testing tools such as Postman or SoapUI.
  • Experience performing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) coordination.
  • Understanding of data integration and reporting systems.
