Job Details

As a Tax Manager, you will be responsible for:

1. Leading the development and implementation of innovative tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and risks.
2. Overseeing the preparation and review of federal, state, local, and international tax returns and ensuring compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.
3. Managing tax audits and inquiries, including negotiating with tax authorities and providing robust defense for the company's tax positions.
4. Keeping abreast of changes in tax legislation and regulations, assessing their potential impact on the company, and advising management accordingly.
5. Collaborating with other departments, including finance and legal, to provide tax advice on business decisions and transactions.
6. Managing and mentoring a team of tax professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
7. Coordinating with external tax advisors and auditors as needed.

Qualifications:

To be considered for the Permanent Tax Manager role, you should have:

1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. An advanced degree in Taxation or Law is highly desirable.
2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.
3. A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in tax management, preferably in the energy industry.
4. In-depth knowledge of federal, state, local, and international tax laws and regulations.
5. Proven experience in tax planning and strategy development.
6. Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
7. Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex tax concepts and strategies to non-tax professionals.
8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
9. High level of integrity and professionalism, with the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
10. Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
